Minutes for Meeting #2 November 30, 2003
The meeting was called to order by Portville Alumni Football Team President Chris Yehl at 7:45
pm at the Portville American Legion. There were 24 PCS graduates in attendance as recorded in the sign-up sheet.
Chris stated that each player is responsible to pay for his jersey, which he will keep.
Vice President Tim Emley displayed 3 different jersey types offered by The Sports Locker in Olean - $70 $40 $35
with names an additional charge. Matt Milne and Ben Reynolds Sr. will look into alternative companies.
We will make a decision concerning the jersey at a later date.
Jersey deadline (cash, number, last name spelling) will be Jan. 25.
Ben Reynolds Jr will lead flag football every Sunday morning at 10 am on the village field.
Tim Emley will provide cones and flags. The importance of getting in shape was stressed.
Chris expressed the need for a bank account and this requires the formation of a board and the
keeping of minutes. Volunteers for the board were asked to stay after the meeting.
Salamanca is allowing Portville to conduct 10-12 formal practices this year. The Warriors
will be having 8, and DJ Whitmore is in charge of their team.
Chris and Tim discussed a gun/$250 raffle to raise a potential $400 for the game. Tim handed
out packs of five $2 tickets. Chris will contact Rick Green about purchasing a gun. The raffle
drawing will be held on Jan. 25 at the next team meeting.
Secretary Jim Reynolds handed out an outline of the Alumni Game project:
Objectives:
1) To accept Salamanca's honorable challenge and field a competitive team
2) To have fun playing the greatest sport ever invented
3) To raise support for Portville Football - Youth and High School
4) To promote unity and build tradition within the community and
school
5) To facilitate friendship and respect between the Panthers and Warriors
Other people and groups we will need to bring to the effort include the Portville Football Club
(65-66 Club), Portville Central School, Portville High School Football, Youth Football, the Sports Boosters.
Individual and corporate sponsorships will be sold for advertisements in a commemorative game
program, which will be sold at the game. We will talk to Salamanca concerning this issue. Players were encouraged

Each player was given a page of 4 sponsor forms to elicit funds for the project. Jim Reynolds
will design the program and have it mass produced at a local printing company if Portville decides to print a separate program
from Salamanca. We may want to just have one program for both towns.
A website will be maintained by Jim Reynolds, and players were encouraged to visit it for updates.
