Gators Upset Panthers
Allegany -- When Portville plays Allegany, you can throw out the season won-loss records.
Since 1930, the two towns have been going at it in football, creating one of the most enduring rivalries in Western New York.
This year, the Gators burned an undefeated Portville squad in the Panthers first league game.
Allegany-Limestone's aerial attack surprised and shocked everyone, and the green team mounted an unsurmountable lead of 18
points.
Yet, the Panthers stormed back, and it was anyone's game in the final minutes. Brandon Emley
registered 16 tackles, while Kyle Witherell and Joe Holcomb each had 14.
Brian Nitsche had 30-yard and 24-yard TD strikes to Josh Haynes in the 4th quarter, and the junior
QB ran one into the end zone as well.
Congratulations to the Gators on their Homecoming night.
