They do an admirable job of promoting WNY football through their pre- and post- season newspapers, which are stuffed with facts, stats, predictions, awards, inside jokes, commentary, and constructive criticism... a must read for fans.

Keeping up on Western New York football is a monumental task. Dick is the resident expert, and he can often be seen on Empire and WKBW-TV's High School show on Saturday nights, 11:30 pm.

The 2004 publication is high on Portville, expecting them to beat Silver Creek at the Ralph in November.

QB Brian Nitsche and RB Joe Holcomb are on the WNYHSS Pre-Season All WNY Team for Small Schools.

Nitsche is the leading league MVP candidate and is mentioned throughout the newspaper, that states on page one:

"Holcomb, Holcomb, and Nitsche return Panthers to playoffs."

All-WNY Candidates

Alex Woohead was recognized by the newspaper as being among the fastest in WNY with a 4.6 second 40-yard dash time.

Lineman Matt Miller and TE/DE Brad Holcomb are All-WNY candidates and potential Big 30 All-Stars.

Captain WR/DB Josh Haynes will be sharing that big role with seniors Brian, Brad, and Matt.

Junior RB Joe Holcomb was honored below as one of the ten pre-season finalists for the Connelly Trophy, which is like the Heisman of Western New York football!!!
