Regular Season Wrap-Up
by Moke Jaekle
After crushing the 6th-ranked team in the state of New York, Portville is headed for the D Bowl Championship series.
Despite winning its last four games, the Panthers just missed out in competing for the section and state crown series of playoffs.
This team has come a long way since the first few weeks. If they can finish the season with 6 or 7 victories out
of ten...the '06 campaign will be a phenomenal success. It would rank right up there with my 7-tackle performance in
the '06 Alumni Game.
The 30-6 win over Catt-LV should certainly give them momentum and confidence going into these 2 playoff contests.
I hope the kids keep up the intensity and focus.
It's been a long time since we've played Westfield...maybe during the late 80's or early 90's. I'll have to check
the records at the coach's office...I can't seem to find my Portville Football record book.
(later...)
I'm Back. I found my record book and here are the numbers:
The teams played each other 4 times, and PCS won them all:
1991 37-6
1992 29-0
1993 21-6
1994 23-8
