Lee Frair

Lee Frair is Mr. Portville.

He grew up on Deer Creek Road, went to the one-room schoolhouse that is now preserved at Bedfords Corners, graduated from Portville, went to Cornell, fought at Normandy, returned to Portville to teach, became the high school principal, became the first district superintendent, served at the United Methodist Church for 8 decades, was an Allegany County legislator after retirement, and has become the eldest and most-beloved person in town, at his present age of 96.

Mr. Frair stills lives on Deer Creek and has been a school, town, and county leader like no other in history. He respresents what is all good about Portville.
