Portville Central School was consolidated in the late 1940s, bringing together many small schoolhouses that were located on the various roads in the towns of Portville and Genesee, Allegany County:

Steam Valley, Westons Mills, Wolf Run, Windfall, Haskell, Route 417, Millgrove, Ceres, Main Settlement, Wolf Creek, Obi, Daggatt, Bedford Corners, Maple Avenue, and others.
