Heritage Days 2003 a Success
A cold, cooperative July 11-12
PORTVILLE, NY -- The community's annual Heritage Days kicked off
on Friday night with a street dance in the village, followed by a number of activities on Saturday, culminating with the Alumni
Banquet at the Knights of Columbus in Olean. The weather was cooler than normal, but the rains stayed
away as folks from all over the area and U.S. converged on the town.
Many former PCS graduates were in town to see family and old friends,
go to reunion parties, and to check out old stomping grounds. Out-of-towners gathered with locals at a Class
of '78 ceremony at the school on Saturday morning to dedicate a memorial to their deceased classmates.
The 2nd group of inductees to the Portville Hall of Fame were honored
at the Alumni Banquet. Ronda Shaner Pollock, Jeff Nix, and Edgar T. and Velma Clark joined Lee Frair, John Dubots,
Helen Worth, and Dr. Louise Merrick.
